So - my guess is all the drones, loons and nanosats are up to free calls in Africa and parts of Asia - then transcription and market back.
Sooo - any startup to beat them with free calling service and a sustainable business model is cool and buyable. The costs need to be low.
Use airships for mesh wifi? Key thing is to keep jitter low, people can adapt to up to 500 ms one way lag.
Costs breakdown:
airship - $1200-1500
AP - $150
solar - $50
accu - $50
radius - 9 APs
at 200m each
you are covering 1800m radius, so 1 km2 will be 10 above investment - abt $20k. which is probably 10x less than 3g
